Hi! I'm Lee, I'm a writer with a mild obsession with King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table

I started writing my Academy Series in the Fall of 2013. I was a law student at the time, and spent most of my free time binging BBC's Merlin. An upper middle grade series, inspired by the Arthurian Legend, set in Chicago, its the story of a young boy, called Weed, trying to find a place in the world. I like the Middle Grade genre because that was the age I was when I started to love reading, and I feel like most kids think that their outsiders, so they can relate to Weed's struggle.

In addition to Weed's tale, I have written a spin-off series about a young girl named Aida. Half-witch and Half-Nymph, she's selected to intern at the new magical government following the Second Great Magical world. Inspired by the federal government while I was intern in DC, the setting is near and dear to me. I loved living in the city, and as an attorney, I find government fascinating. It was fun to create my own, even if I did draw a lot from real life, and it made me consider the strengths and weaknesses of our own system in the process.

When not writing, I'm curled up with my 80 lb. Lab named Stella reading, or off having an adventure traveling somewhere new. I've been to over 20 countries and can't get enough of all the different cultures. My travels have definitely shaped my academy series, as I thought about how different magical creatures would mix together to shape this world. One of my favorite things to do when traveling to a new country is to pick up a Harry Potter book in a new language. I like seeing the different cover art and seeing how they translated some of the magical words.
